BrunaughJason Brunaugh graduated from Jersey Community High School in 1996 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Blackburn College in 2001. Mr. Brunaugh began his teaching career that same year at Illini Middle School as an eighth grade Language Arts teacher and over the next eleven years taught various grade and subject levels within the school. While teaching, Mr. Brunaugh served as a basketball and soccer coach at Jersey Community High School and a grade school basketball coach. During his teaching tenure, he earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Southern Illinois University in 2005. In 2012, Mr. Brunaugh’s passion for education and love of technology helped him grow and develop professionally in a digital coach’s role as he worked with teachers leading up to our digital conversion. In 2013, he became the assistant principal at Illini Middle School and the following year assumed the role of principal. Mr. Brunaugh is currently pursuing his Educational Specialist in Administration and Doctorate in Education from Maryville University. Mr. Brunaugh is married to Gwendolyn who serves as a mathematics teacher at Jersey Community High School and they have two children: Jaxon (7) and Makenna (4).
